The beautiful Wisconsin River runs directly through the center of the Wisconsin Rapids/south Wood County area, a community of approximately 45,000 in the middle of both the state and cranberry country. Our convenient location in south Wood County makes Wisconsin Rapids an ideal destination for living, working, and engaging in recreation. You’ll encounter an array of diverse industry, beautiful scenery, and specialty restaurants and shops. Throughout the year, the Wisconsin Rapids area hosts a variety of festivals, races, art exhibitions, sporting competitions, and other events. This includes farmers markets, baseball, golf, hockey, performing arts, cranberry marsh tours, picturesque walking and biking trails along the river, and birdwatching. Water skiing is also a large part of our community’s (summer) identity. In addition to hosting the Wisconsin State Water Ski Show Tournament every third week in July at Lake Wazeecha – and even the national tournament on occasion – we were very excited to host the World Water Ski Show Tournament in 2016! Regardless of how you choose to experience it, our area will provide you with an abundance of opportunities to live, work and play.
